Things I learnt watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Ever since the first time I watched Friends ( the American sit com) I have never stopped watching it. Every time I finish the series I will decide not to start over again. But then after a month I feel like I need to watch it. What do I actually miss while I am away from show? It is the pure feeling of feel good factor and comfort the show provides me. Over the time after watching it one million times I can now breakdown character and understand why I actually love each one of them. What are all the things I have been learning all these while. So here are the learnings from my favorite show F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

If you are someone who hasn't watched this show, I tell you please watch! The whole jist of the show is in the title song. And the show will get interesting after few episodes or after season 1. The whole ten seasons will make you laugh like hell, will make you cry, will make you very very happy, I told you, it's a feel good show! The show has 6 main characters, and you can relate to each character in some or the other way.

Now let me start with my most favorite character;

Phoebe : I love Phoebe the most because of her honesty and acceptance of herself. She taught me that you should be your own fan girl or fan boy without any need of others to do it for you. In each and every episode I love how she stands out very authentic and different from any others. How she is so careful and diplomatic when dealing with each one of her friends and also honest when the right time comes.

Joey : Joey is my comfort character, because he is a carefree, easy-going person. He never gets health conscious and always has room to eat!!! He represents each and every human on this earth. Everyone wants to be him but unfortunately can't!!! The way he owns up his eating habit is brilliant. He is the best example for 'ignorance is bliss'. End of the day I might not take away any of these things from him. But what I love the most and would love to adopt is his sincere friendship with chandler. And because of his honest friendship, effortlessly he has a unique bond with each and every character in the show.

Ross : This character is the most relatable character, because he deals with science and you know he is a paleontologist and I am botanist. Other than that his way of waiting for his long lasting love for Rachel is admirable. Something I learnt from him is that knowledge is power and when you know knowledge, then you own yourself! You can be a centre of discussion and respected. Although he makes blunder as boyfriend, husband and also as a friend, people on the other side of the relationship never left him because of the love and care he provides, that is something that I would love to take back home. Also the way he enjoys his own company and finds joy in the little things is something I learnt along the way.

Monica : This character is the one from whom I learn a lot and she is the one who drives the whole group and also fills the shoe of a "mom" in the group ( if you know what I mean). She is the feeder, advisor, anchor and everything in between. Things that I learnt from Monica are;

< Cleaning obsessively can also seem very passionate.

< Feeding people with good food is more than a fulfilling and satisfying act in life.

< One can be cool as well as organized.

< The commitment is a serious thing that can bring you joy or destroy you completely.

Rachel : This is a character that I least relate but enjoy watching. Because she is the one who buys a lot of clothes, spends money, does meaningless and endless shopping as a therapy and many more such characteristics that I don't like to adopt at all. But if I have learnt very distinctively from her is the commitment and passion towards the work she loves and a healthy possession towards the people that she is in relationship with.

Chandler : I have saved this character for the last because he is the one who gel with all the friends so very well that, he marries to one of them, one of them is his oldest college friend, one of them is a roommate and his 'best bud' and finally he cried during sarrow and joy on the shoulders of other two friends. The level of humility and seeking his friends for advise even though he is the most intellectual and has the most complex personality in the group is very difficult to adopt, still something worth the try to inculcate in life.

Just to conclude F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is my comfort show and I love to go back again and again to get that feel good factor!
